Job summary
The post holder will be responsible for the management of the administrative aspects of the colposcopy service, based in the Womens Unit. The postholder will need to be able to communicate well with patients and their relatives, the general public and a wide range of multi-professional staff, internal and external to the Trust. A versatile approach is essential and the ability to cope with a large number of different tasks simultaneously is a prerequisite of this post.
Main duties of the job
The Womens Unit is a very busy speciality, undertaking colposcopy clinics run by medical and nurse colposcopists, Outpatient hysteroscopy and Myosure, Vulval, Pessary service, Manual Vacuum Aspiration and Recurrent Miscarriage Clinics. Thus the Unit aims to provide procedures that aid in investigating, treating and improving Womens Health. The various clinics are run by either doctors or nurse specialists and supported by health care assistants.
The post holder will support the work of the clinicians and nursing staff within the department working closely with all members of the multi-disciplinary team and other departments.
