Job summary

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Fundamentals of Care Team. The postholder will be based at Harrogate District Hospital and act as a champion for the provision of high-quality care in our acute settings, with a focus on Falls prevention, Dementia care, Enhanced care and in hospital Continence. They will act as a role model to influence good nursing practice, facilitate training, and support staff in the development of clinical competencies.

Main duties of the job

The clinical role will include assessment and treatment of patients who need support with any of the above mentioned specialities. The role will require working with the ward staff in an advisory capacity.

They will be required to work autonomously, in the area of Fundamentals of Care with the support of the wider Fundamentals of Care team. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, there is a strong commitment to collaborative working, including TVN's, Elderly Care, Nutrition, Palliative, Quality Improvement and Discharge services.

As you would expect for this role, professional and managerial support will be provided.

The postholder will require excellent communication skills to work within clinical teams and with ward managers to promote engagement with learning opportunities and quality improvement. They will be involved in the development of innovative new ways of working and the development of documentation and teaching materials.The successful applicant will participate in the delivery of educational programmes. They will also plan and deliver teaching sessions with smaller groups, to support clinical skills as well as providing ad hoc support and guidance. They will need to have sound clinical knowledge and experience in the management of Falls prevention, Dementia care, Enhanced care and in hospital Continence.
