We have an exciting opportunity within our long term and unscheduled care directorate. We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Junior Sister/Charge Nurse to join or team on Granby ward. Granby is a 22-bedded stroke rehabilitation and neurology ward. The successful candidate will be working as part of a large multidisciplinary team and will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of care for our patients, demonstrating care and compassion. The post holder will be required to be able to provide professional, clinical and managerial leadership to nursing staff within the ward and to deputise in the absence of the ward manager. Main duties of the job

  1. Accountable for own actions in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct. Will contribute to corporate objectives, acting within local, Trust and statutory guidelines and policies
  2. Effectively communicate information regarding clinical decisions, policy and care pathways to patients/carers and the multi-professional team. Will maintain accurate, legible and contemporary records of care, ensuring all documentation to be of a high standard
  3. A skilled practitioner and clinical leader providing support to the management team
  4. Responsible for clinical assessment of a group of patients and management of a team, ensuring appropriate care is planned, implemented and evaluated/audited. Provision of guidance and support for junior staff
  5. Ensure that own clinical skills and knowledge are current and relevant following guidelines for revalidation as laid out by the trust and by the NMC
  6. Demonstrate highly technical and/or practical skills to ensure optimum patient management including; patient monitoring; equipment management and frequent support of invasive tests/procedures
  7. Develop and educate staff, participating in supervision, mentorship and appraisal as per trust requirement
