Job summary

The Community and Events Fundraiser is responsible for increasing charitable donations, building relationships in the local community and supporting events, raising the charity's profile, delivering agreed fundraising targets and implementing projects/appeals across the #teamHDFT footprint.

Main duties of the job

  • Responsible for building the charity's profile in the geographical region both internally to staff and patients and externally to members of the public.
  • Raising awareness and initiating contact in local community with community groups, schools, businesses and individuals
  • Building new and existing relationships within the local communities with schools, Groups and Associations, local businesses, corporates and individuals.
  • Supporting and developing community fundraising initiatives and events, attending donor meetings, supporting and attending events
  • Confident in pitching and presenting to a wide range of audiences such as internal committees, Groups and Associations, corporates and schools.
  • Organising internal/external fundraising events; implementing a varied and well structured annual events calendar.
  • Providing excellent donor support; finding new supporters and motivating, supporting and retaining existing supporters.
  • Recruiting, inducting and retaining volunteers including forming new volunteer fundraising groups.
  • Responsible for gaining positive media coverage of charity activities - improving public awareness/ and knowledge of the charity, its objectives, campaigns, events, appeals and successes.
  • Working alongside the Fundraising Team to implement specific appeals/campaigns in the geographical region.
