This role will be based at York Hospital and you will lead / mange the adult dietetic and speech and language therapy services based in the surgery care group. This includes critical care, in-patients wards and out- patients
Main duties of the job
Duties include staff management, recruitment, induction, appraisal, locality training and service development. You will also have responsibility for shift and workload allocation as well as rota planning. Support will be available from other team managers as well as clinical advice from advanced clinical specialists / clinical leads in this area and professional leads.
A relevant degree or equivalent with current HCPC registration is essential. The successful candidate will have a broad range of post graduate experience, with at least some in a relevant clinical area and should include working at a senior level, and taking responsibility for other members of staff.
Ability to support others in skills development and complex discharge management is essential and understanding of complex care management within the NHS environment is also beneficial.

- Broad range of post graduate experience within relevant clinical settings. This should include working at a senior level with some responsibility for other team members.
- Post graduate experience in managing a wide range of conditions, evidence of ability to manage complex clinical presentations.
- Ability to act as a patient advocate
- Ability to support others in skills development eg clinical workload, complex discharge planning, time management, caseload management, prescription of specialist equipment.
- Active contribution to audit.
- Evidence of clinical, organizational and managerial knowledge- including ability to undertake more complex problem solving in these areas.
- Experience of working with patients who have multi pathology presentations.
- Experience of taking a lead role within a Team.
- Ability to pass on specialist skills/knowledge to others within both formal and informal environments.
- Experience as Clinical supervisor to graduate level students
- Knowledge of workplace and clinical risk evaluation and management
