An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Physiotherapist to join the Professional Leadership Team as the Physiotherapy Professional Lead. This pivotal role will provide strategic and visible leadership across the Trust, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, and effective physiotherapy services that enhance patient care and experience.
As Physiotherapy Professional Lead, you will:
- Drive forward the physiotherapy agenda within the wider AHP strategy, aligning new ways of working with organisational goals.
- Lead on evidence-based practice, service improvement, and innovation to strengthen physiotherapy's contribution to patient care.
- Provide professional leadership and support to physiotherapy teams, fostering a culture of compassion, creativity, and continuous learning.
- Represent the profession at operational and strategic levels, offering expert advice to internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with the Chief AHP and multidisciplinary teams to deliver national and local quality indicators.
- Contribute to workforce planning, professional development.

Main duties of the job
The Physiotherapy Professional Lead is a senior role providing strategic, professional and clinical leadership to ensure safe, effective and high-quality physiotherapy services across the Trust.
Key responsibilities include:
Leadership & Workforce Development:Shape the vision and strategy for physiotherapy services, advise on service design, workforce planning and interdisciplinary working, and promote innovation and continuous improvement.
Performance & Quality Management:Ensure compliance with governance, regulatory and quality standards. Lead improvement initiatives in response to safety alerts, complaints and emerging best practice.
Policy & Service Improvement:Interpret and implement national and local policy, lead service redesign and contribute to business case development and transformation work.
Communication & Collaboration:Build strong internal and external networks, work with HEIs and professional bodies, and provide expert advice and strategic representation.
Resource Management:Support financial planning, oversee efficient use of resources and contribute to sustainable service delivery.
Clinical Contribution:Maintain specialist clinical expertise, act as a role model, and provide advanced advice, training and supervision.
Professional Development:Promote lifelong learning, research engagement and a supportive culture for staff development.
