12 month Fixed Term/Secondment Band 5 Static Occupational Therapist - Acute Inpatient Elderly Therapy
Are you an Occupational Therapist looking for an opportunity to develop your clinical skills within an ward based elderly frailty team?

This Occupational Therapy role offers the chance to experience clinical practice in Elderly Frailty, especially around preventing deconditioning. We have enthusiastic and experienced clinical teams who will support your development.
You will have an opportunities to support staff and students, as well as support service development projects and ensuring quality patient care. The Trust actively promotes staff development through a structured support process, which will be available to you for both clinical and managerial supervision and encouragement to explore other learning opportunities. You will also be able to access the Trust's preceptorship program.

Main duties of the job
- To assess, treat, provide, and evaluate Occupational Therapy for a designated group of patients within the acute, community or outpatient setting.
- To hold responsibility for own caseload of patients with social, physical, psychological, behavioural, and cognitive challenges, as an autonomous practitioner, and to manage this using evidence based/ client centred principles.
- To provide support, advice, and training to less experienced members of staff and students.
- To act as a resource within the department and Trust providing information and advice in those conditions indicated.
- To contribute to a defined area of service working without direct supervision; clinical work will be evaluated in line with Trust and service objectives.
- To engage in regular clinical/managerial supervision and undertake education and training, to develop oneself and others.
- To contribute to evidence-based audit and projects to evaluate and improve clinical practice and evaluate user involvement suggesting local service changes where appropriate.
- To be involved with appropriate clinical networks that may be at a local, regional, or national level.
