Administrator Diabetes and Endocrinology

Job summary

We are looking for an administrator to join our Diabetes and Endocrinology Admin Team at York Hospital.

Our ideal candidate would demonstrate excellent interpersonal and administrative skills, and the ability to develop positive working relationships with the team.

This is a busy department and this role requires confident use of clinical IT systems and Microsoft Office, daily contact with patients and clinicians, a professional telephone manner, good organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a small and friendly team.INTERVIEWS FOR THIS ROLE WILL BE HELD FACE TO FACE ONLY WITH NO REMOTE OPTION AVAILABLE

Main duties of the job

The role provides a varied and interesting workload including, but not limited to:

  • Clinic reception duties including receiving and supporting patients arriving for appointments, ensuring a positive patient experience.
  • Processing patient referrals to the service.
  • Liaise with clinical and admin staff within the team and across other services.
  • Monitoring clinic availability and booking/rescheduling patient appointments.
  • Be the first point of contact for all telephone and face to face enquiries.
  • Monitor, maintain and update electronic Worklists, ensuring all items are actioned in a timely manner and any issues are escalated appropriately.
  • Admin support and booking for information and training events.
  • General administrative tasks including monitoring and ordering stock and supplies, managing shared inboxes and emails, scanning, printing, handling incoming mail.
  • Produce reports and other documents as required to analyse worklists and provide information.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Any other administrative or clerical duties which may be required as part of this role.Please note, this role is based onsite with no remote working possible, due to the nature of the role.
