Macmillan Information & Support Manager

The closing date is 19 March 2026

Job summary

We are recruiting a Macmillan Information & Support Manager to lead our Cancer Wellbeing Service, a non-clinical Information & Support service which provides a wide range of support to people affected by cancer. The service operates two Cancer Care Centres at York and Scarborough Hospital which you will be expected to split your time between.

The service has undergone extensive development in recent years, leading to a new operating model and construction of a new Macmillan Cancer Care Centre at York Hospital. You will join the service at an exciting time, taking responsibility for launching the new centre and operating model while growing the service's community offer in line with the NHS 10-Year Plan. As such, this is a non-traditional service manager role with an increased emphasis on change management and quality improvement alongside more conventional operational tasks & activities. You will also contribute to the wider cancer support portfolio, including the Personalised Care & Supportive Oncology workstreams.

We are keen to hear from individuals with experience of working in cancer support, although this is not essential provided you have a passion for supporting people affected by cancer. The role is supported by Macmillan Cancer Support, meaning you will become a Macmillan Professional and gain access to various benefits and opportunities.

We would strongly encourage interested candidates to contact the recruiting manager prior to applying to discuss the role.

  • Coordinate and develop best practice in User Involvement in line with Trust strategy.
  • Line manage the Cancer Wellbeing Service team and their administrative functions, ensuring adequate administrative support is always provided through both the development and maintenance of appropriate working practices and procedures and the effective management of staff.
