Clinical Governance Facilitator

Job summary

We have exciting opportunities to join our governance team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals.

We are recruiting for x1 12 Month fixed term/secondment Clinical Governance Facilitator in the Medicine Care Group based in Scarborough.

We are also recruiting for x1 Permanent Clinical Governance Facilitator in the Surgery Care Group based in York with the need for cross site travel.

Main duties of the job

To facilitate the effective delivery of Clinical Governance and risk activities across the Care Group

Responsible for leading on investigations into serious incidents across the Care Group, collating highly complex information, communicating with staff, patients and relatives, where they may be cultural issues on communication.

Responsible for supporting complaint investigation officers within the Care Group to investigate complaints across the Care group and produce timely and comprehensive responses to all formal complaints.

Responsible for co-ordinating, facilitating and supporting the Care Group working towards achieving compliance with best clinical practice and external national requirements, for example, Care Quality Commission regulation.

Responsible for providing teaching, support and advice on quality issues, patient safety, clinical governance and risk management to all clinical staff, allied health professionals, nurses, support workers and medical staff.

Responsible for co-ordinating and facilitating systems and processes across the Care Group to ensure the dissemination and implementation of lessons learnt from SI's, Complaints, audit results, internal and external reviews and recommendations.

  • Education to Degree level or equivalent
  • Registered qualification in medicine/nursing/AHPs/ or any health care profession
  • Post Graduate Qualification in Risk Management or equivalent experience.

Desirable

  • Additional RCA risk management training/education
  • Datix management and development skills

Experience and Knowledge Required

  • Knowledge of Databases, MS Word and Excel
  • Awareness of the Trust Incident Reporting Procedure
