An exciting opportunity has arisen within care group medicinehere at York Hospital. We are looking to recruit an experienced nurse into the Band 7 Ward manager role on Ward 32.

This ward has 31 beds and provides care for a mixture of patients over 3 specialists; Cardiology, Endocrinology and Neurology.

The successful candidate will have at least 2 years post registration experience at band 6 or equivalent in an acute environment.

Main duties of the job

You will provide ward leadership for our cardiology, endocrinology and neurology in-patients. Driving excellent clinical quality standards to a vulnerable patient group by providing visible clinical leadership to the team in the delivery of high quality, effective and evidence-based care

On the ward you will lead on the continuous improvement of the patient safety and quality agendas, staffing and resource management and learning from incidents. You will lead consistency in the delivery of fundamentals of care, leadership and management of the nursing team.

Experience in one of the wards specialty is preferable, however experience in managing, developing and growing a team is essential .
