Job summary
We are looking to recruit a Band 8a Audiologist to join our UKAS accredited Paediatric Audiology Team as a Paediatric Diagnostic and Rehabilitation Team Leader.
The post holder will be based at York and must be able to travel to other sites for example Harrogate, Thirsk, Whitby and Scarborough.
This role is pivotal in delivering expert clinical services in diagnostic and rehabilitation of children with hearing loss. As a leader you will provide clinical supervision and training to staff and trainees, fostering professional development and excellence within the team.
Additionally, you will bring together the clinical leads in each paediatric field, ensuring high quality care and innovative service delivery.
Main duties of the job
As a Team Leader in Audiology, you will use well developed clinical skills, advanced theoretical knowledge, and extensive practical experience. You will undertake assessments and rehabilitation of paediatric patients with hearing loss.
The post holder will be able to deliver safe and effective audiology services both within their scope of practice and, more broadly considering their professions' legal and ethical boundaries. You will work as an autonomous practitioner undertaking a specialist clinicalworkload, using advanced clinical reasoning and delivering a broad range of treatments, education and advice.

Qualifications
Essential
- AHCS (RCCP) Registered or HCPC registered clinical scientist.
- Post graduate qualification relevant to post and clinical specialty. However, we will consider applicants with significant experience in paediatric audiology.
Desirable
- Practice placement supervisor qualification.
Clinical Experience
Essential
- Experience in specialist role, including the management of a range of specialist conditions, with substantial evidence of additional knowledge acquired through formal and informal clinical supervision.
- Substantial experience of assessment and provision of specialist equipment.
- In-depth understanding of current issues in health care Standards of Professional Practice.
Desirable
- Highly experienced in the identification and use of outcome measures to evaluate clinical treatment.
- Evidence of enhanced communication skills and the ability to use different communication methods and styles, relevant to specialty.
Leadership Experience
Desirable
- Significant experience of training/supporting others (including students) within specialist clinical area, including STP students.
- Evidence of having led the delivery of relevant audit/research projects.
