Senior Pharmacy Technician (Procurement & Distribution)

Job summary

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and self-motivated Pharmacy Technician who would like to join our Procurement and Distribution team in the Pharmacy Department at York or Scarborough Hospitals.

Team leading experience and a good understanding of stock management is vital for this post, however, training can be provided for the right candidate.

Main duties of the job

  • Supervising pharmacy assistants, stores supervisor and workflow within pharmacy stores
  • Supporting with training within pharmacy stores and procurement teams
  • Participating in reviewing SOPs
  • Undertaking ward stock reviews and amending ward stock top-ups.
  • Stock control, ordering and supply of medicines to wards.
  • Daily ordering of pharmaceuticals for York and Scarborough Hospitals
  • Inputting contracts and dealing with supply issues
  • Working with Senior members of the Procurement and Distribution teams to enable improvement and development in line with the Trusts priorities.

  • BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences / QCF Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent.
  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
