Job summary
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual for the role of Specialist Cardiac Physiologist, who shares our vision to provide consistent outstanding care and exemplary service to out patients.
We are looking for a physiologist who holds BHRS accreditation, or someone who is currently working towards this. We would also consider applications from non accredited candidates, who meet the desirable criteria on the person specification, with the expectation that they would achieve accreditation within a set time frame, which will be decided following initial assessment during probationary period.
The starting band for this would be Band 6, with a Band 7 run through once the qualification and certain competencies are reached.
Our Cardiac Physiology Team is committed to deliver high quality diagnostic testing with the utmost patient care. We are a close knit team consisting of Highly Specialist accredited Physiologists, Specialist Physiologists, Associate Practitioners and Assistant Healthcare Scientists, along with a dedicated team of administrative staff.
You will play a crucial role in supporting the development of our team as well as enhancing our services. Opportunities to mentor and support colleagues whilst ensuring our services evolve to meet the highest standard of care.
The hospital has a growing number of cardiologists, with whom we have an excellent working relationship, making this an exciting opportunity to join an expanding team.
Main duties of the job
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Overseeing the busy outpatient pacing clinics, including face to face and remote follow up for pacemakers, complex devices and loop recorders.
- Supporting the implantation for devices
- Follow up of all types of implantable cardiac devices in emergency and routine inpatient settings - ICD/CRT +/- D/ICMS
- Perform and report specialised diagnostic cardiac physiological testing on patients to aid clinic diagnosis
