Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 within our Surgical Care Group at York Hospital. Ward 16 is a 28 bedded Gastrointestinal surgical ward caring for elective and acute patients with various upper GI and Colorectal conditions.
The ward also includes an 8 bedded Nurse Enhanced Unit (NEU) which cares for higher acuity patients and provides specialised Level 1 care, e.g. Arterial Line management.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about nursing and dedicated to improving patient care through effective leadership and management of our ward team. Working closely with your team and surgical nursing colleagues you will focus on improvement projects in response to feedback, whilst maintaining essential KPIs and quality.
The successful candidate will be open to change, driven and be able to communicate at all levels within the nursing leadership team and wider Multidisciplinary teams within surgery.
We would like to recruit a forward-thinking and experienced individual with strong leadership skills to lead on an imminent ward refurbishment project whilst supportingthe team to deliver safe and compassionate care and maintaining high standards at all times.
