Job summary
Would you like to make a difference to people living with inflammatory and auto immune conditions? Would you like to gain knowledge and experience in a different speciality? We have a secondment opportunity to join the Rheumatology Specialist Nurse Team in York and the surrounding area.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic nurse who has a passion for delivering high quality patient care. Working alongside consultants and AHP colleagues, you will be part of the nursing team to deliver specialist rheumatology care to patients in the York locality including the York Community Stadium
Maternity cover - Fixed Term
This opportunity is available as a secondment for current NHS employees however you must seek approval from your current line manager prior to applying.
Please note you must have full active registration with the UK NMC and will be asked to provide this on your application form. Applications with Pre-Registered and non NMC pins cannot be accepted and will not be shortlisted.
Interviews for this position will be held in person ONLY at one of our Trust sites in North Yorkshire. Remote interviews will not be availableMain duties of the job
- Run nurse led clinics to provide education and information to patients and their families about managing their long term condition.
- Discuss treatment options with patients and counsel them on safe and effective use of disease modifying medication.
- Regularly review patients' disease activity and response to treatment using a variety of monitoring tools.
- Participate in the running of the nurse led telephone adviceline to provide support and advice to patients on flare management, side effects of medication, blood tests, and managing their condition.
- Liaise with the consultants and MDT
- Keep up to date with current issues within rheumatology.
