Job summary
The Community Nursing administrative team provides an essential, high quality, administration support function, relating to Paediatric Community services. Working as part of a highly effective and professional team, the post holder will assist the Community Nursing Administrator to provide administration support for the Paediatric Specialist and Community Nursing Teams at York and Scarborough Hospitals.
Main duties of the job
The post involves the use of multiple electronic systems, including the in-house database, Core Patient Database (CPD), System 1 and Microsoft Office applications (including Excel). Principle duties and responsibilities as follows:
Allocation of referrals to our services.
Maintain Trust CPD (Core Patient Database), including patient information.
Administering patient clinic appointments.
Be the point of contact for all community nursing teams.
Deal with telephone enquiries appropriately from service users and partner agencies, including requests for tests, results and making appropriate appointments. Allocating to relevant team members where required.
Deal appropriately with telephone and electronic mail enquires from a wide variety of partners, including other health care providers and members of the public.
Maintaining Excel spreadsheets.
Ordering of supplies.
Organisation of patient transport if needed.
Requesting of notes / filing / scanning / archiving.
Distribution of clinical items where required.
Cover for Administrator when absent.
Any other ad-hoc work requests.
