Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for 1 year fixed term/ secondment. The right candidates will join the complex needs team as an autism liaison practitioner, The post holder will use their fixed term tenure to influence the development and delivery of a liaison service for neurodivergent patients accesing our services.

You will be joining a friendly, supportive and dedicated team who are passionate about making a difference for people.

The role is available full time, however, part time applications considered.

Main duties of the job

The key duties of this job are to be an advocate and adviser for autistic people of all ages within our secondary healthcare environment and to be an adviser to trust staff in how to achieve equitable healthcare outcomes for this group of patients.

The role involves co production, and also visible and close collaborative working with colleagues in both the hospital and community settings, raising awareness about the reasonable adjustment needs of neurodivergent patients.

  • oAwareness and understanding of current issues in autism and healthcare.
  • oUnderstanding of local and national autism agendas.
  • oUnderstanding of relevant legislation, frameworks, and guidance relating to autism.
  • oUnderstanding of research-based practice.
  • oAbility to organise and prioritise own workload.
