Job summary

The world of Digital Health is expanding and evolving. It is high on the priority list in National agendas and locally for us in York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. We plan to radically change the Organisation's digital landscape and implement an entirely new Electronic Patient record (EPR). This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in possibly the biggest transformational programme this Organisation will undertake this decade and even beyond.

We are building a pharmacy EPMA team who will work closely alongside the wider clinical digital change team which will be pivotal in designing, developing, and implementing the new EPR across the Organisation. This will be an opportunity to transform the quality of care for our patients and revolutionise the working day for our colleagues utilising digital systems.

The is an entirely new role that is being created with funding from the EPR project. The aim of the role is to support our strategic priorities in pharmacy and across the wider trust and bring energy and passion for delivering results that make a difference to our patients. It is an opportunity to embrace truly unique and transformative working ways and environments.

We are looking for someone with a background as a pharmacy technician who has excellent knowledge of pharmacy processes to work cross site to positively support pharmacy staff.

Main duties of the job

This role will foster engagement and transformation within the programme workstreams and will support pharmacy involvement, system training and education whilst ensuring clinical safety throughout. You must possess excellent communication skills and act as an advocate for staff working in pharmacy as well as wider groups of clinical staff, ensuring best practice through the adoption of digital solutions.

This position serves as a fundamental resource for designing, implementing, and optimising configuration, workflows, and system functionalities. This will help us to improve usability and efficiency of the Trust's clinical systems, tools, and healthcare solutions, supporting the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.

The post holder will supplement the planning and delivery of role-based training and education to optimise the functionality of the EPR and provide ongoing support to clinical staff. They will maintain documentation, promote staff digital engagement, and collaborate with stakeholders to implement digital transformation.

We are looking for someone who has experience in using digital systems and will be confident in understanding the functionality within the new EPR. You will also be able to demonstrate competence in service development and/or project management. There will a requirement in this role to undertake duties within the pharmacy service and therefore you will have excellent knowledge and skills in pharmacy processes.
