Job summary
We are looking for someone to fill our post of Stoma Care Coordinator.
Every day is different, and duties will vary accordingly.
Our coordinator has an important role as central point of contact for staff and patients alike. The Clinical Nurse Specialist Team really on their coordinator to upload documents to a variety of databases, make patient appointments, triage incoming phone calls.
The role offers a wide range of admin tasks, whilst also some patient contact via phone calls. Our patients like to talk to us as a team, and if you think you have the skills and interests to 'make a difference' to patients then this role is for you!
Full training will be provided for all requirements of the role where needed.
Compassion, good communication skills and remaining calm under pressure are essential skills we would look for.

Main duties of the job
Wide range of administration - patient records, appointments, audit etc
Managing phone calls and requests for information
Ordering of supplies
Liaising with a variety of different teams and agencies
Basic patient advice and review

- Educated to GCSE/O' level standard in core subjects or evidence of working at that level
- Computer literate with knowledge of IT systems such as Word and Excel
- HNC or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent evidence of working at that level
Desirable
- Administration qualification
- Knowledge of databases and spreadsheets
Experience
Essential
- Minimum 2 years experience within the NHS or similar environment (e.g. Dept of Health or other public service)
- Experience of working with Stoma patients or within a relevant clinical setting
- Experience of working with multi professional teams
- Evidence of ability to develop effective working relationships with different levels and disciplines internal and external to the organisation
Desirable
- Experience of managing resources
- Experience of audit and data collection
- Administrative support for clinical team including use of Microsoft office and experience of patient information systems (CPD)
- Experience of telephone triage and patient contact
