We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Band 6 Specialist Physiotherapist with a visionary outlook to join our Neurodevelopmental Paediatric therapy team on a fixed term basis. The successful candidate will be joining a friendly, innovative and child-centred therapy team based in Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale. There is the option to be based at Springhill House (Scarborough) or Malton Hospital with the successful candidate expected to support clinical work across both Scarborough and Ryedale localities.
You will be working with pre-school and school aged children with a range of Neurodevelopmental conditions in a variety of settings, which may include patients homes, community clinics, mainstream, special schools and nurseries.
This post would suit an experienced Band 5 looking to progress, or a Band 6 looking to develop specialist clinical skills in Paediatrics. We have an established support network within the Therapy team.

Main duties of the job
You will be part of a skilled multi-professional therapy team providing a high quality therapy service. You will provide specialist physiotherapy assessment and treatment for a range of Paediatric Neurodevelopmental and complex conditions, demonstrating complex clinical reasoning based on evidence based-practice.
Excellent communication skills are required to help with sensitive situations, to support working with patients of different age groups and assist multi-disciplinary team working. Excellent organisational skills are essential to enable you to manage your diary effectively.
Experience working with children and young people of all ages is desirable but not essential for this post.
You would be expected to participate in ongoing service development activities and the regular in-service training programme. You also will have the opportunity to contribute to the supervision of junior staff and students.
Support will be provided by the Clinical Lead Physiotherapist for Neurology and Clinical Lead for Postural Management and Equipment. You will have access to regular clinical and managerial supervision and appraisal opportunities to identify objectives within the four pillars of practice. We encourage innovative practice and you will be supported accordingly to develop in your role.
