Job summary
We are recruiting to the position of Emergency Planning Manager. This is an exciting time to join the Trust and join the team in further developing our capacity in Emergency Preparedness Resilience & Response (EPRR).
We welcome applications from individuals with a strong foundation in Emergency Preparedness Resilience & Response, gained within a healthcare setting., who are ready to take the lead as we operationalise our plans to improve our resilience.
The post-holder will lead and coordinate the development of resilience across all clinical and support services, and in all aspects of our preparation to respond to business continuity issues. You will assist the Head of EPRR in the preparation of all Trust emergency plans and their testing and exercising.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the Trust is prepared to respond to emergency incidents, by working in partnership with partners and stakeholders. You will support and deputise for the Head of EPRR in providing emergency planning and business continuity subject advice to Trust executives and On Call managers.
You will be required to provide a central source of national emergency preparedness resilience and response expertise and leadership in all aspects of health emergency preparedness. If this sounds like you then we look forward to receiving your application!

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring a continued state of preparedness for the Trust, to respond to any major or significant incident both planned and unscheduled, ensuring that measures are in place to maintain continuity of its core business.
The post holder will ensure that legal and regulatory requirements that apply to the Trust are met, including training, planning and co-ordination working with the Integrated Care Board, the Local Healthcare Resilience Partnership and multi-agency partners.
The post holder will develop excellence in business continuity that the Trust holds, and seek to develop good practice learning lessons from experiences of other exercises and events nationally.
The post holder will ensure that emergency planning and resilience become an integral part of business planning, strategy and operations across the Trust.
Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.

- oRelevant degree or DipHEP qualifications (or working towards) in relation to Emergency Planning/ Business Continuity, or equivalent demonstrable occupational experience.
- oMinimum Level 3 City & Guilds within Training and Education qualification.
Desirable
- oAt least 2 years NHS experience ideally in a management setting.
- oBusiness Continuity Management System trained.
Experience and Knowledge Required
