Specialist Nurse Practitioner Band 6 (indicative)

We have an exciting opportunity for a professional and confident Specialist Community Public Health Nurse to join the small, friendly team within Occupational Health & Wellbeing Service. We are looking for an individual who will relish the challenge of working in this fast-paced department, which engages with a varied and interesting agenda. We are looking for a good team player who will handle the responsibilities of the role in a professional, confident and calm manner. Experience of case management, ability to run own clinics and able to work under pressure is essential. Customer service experience, strong attention to detail and a confident and professional approach with strong organisational/ prioritisation skills are essential. You must be proficient in IT skills.

Please note the post may involve transporting and manual handling of clinical equipment and site visits to our contracts.

The role is a part-time post, 22.5 hours worked over 3 days.

Main duties of the job

  • Maintain a high standard of client focused care in accordance with York & Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust guidelines and policies and those of client contract organisations when on their sites/premises
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment
  • Support the OH&WBS clinical team in setting and monitoring standards and seek to continuously improve standards and the quality of client care, including those standards defined in the relevant legislative Acts/guidance documents/NICE relevant to OH Practice
  • Provide assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of OH&WB care for clients, ensuring written/Database records are kept
  • In conjunction with the Clinical Manager/SCPHN ensure management of clinical services and efficient deployment of staff according to service needs.
  • Case management/management referral clinics
  • Provide Fitness for Work advice
  • Participate in Immunisation/Vaccination/Venepuncture clinics as necessary

  • Registered Nurse (Level 1 and part 3 of NMC register)
  • Degree in Nursing
