Due to the retirement of a long-serving team member, we're looking for an experienced people person with an exceptional understanding of information management systems to join our friendly Learning and Development Team.
As the manager for our Learning Management System (LMS), you will head-up a small team within the Workforce Development function, while working closely with our LMS supplier to become the lead expert in the Trust. You will have overall responsibility for all operational tasks relating to the day-to-day running of the LMS, while taking charge of expanding and promoting the use of the LMS within the organisation.
You don't need to have worked with an LMS before, but will need to be a quick learner, with good understanding of information management systems and strong experience of complex databases. Above all, we are looking for an effective problem-solver with a can-do attitude.
Main duties of the job
- Responsible for the development, management and maintenance of all LMS functionality including: Online Learning, e-Appraisal and Nurse Revalidation tools and provide advice on the appropriate use of the system in relation to any external auditory requirements e.g. from the CQC or NHS England.
- Responsible for the look and feel of the LMS; define and maintain high levels of user experience. Test, identify and action any areas of inconsistency or error.
- Manage the Trust's third party support contract, requesting system upgrades as necessary. This will include monitoring the performance and quality of associated third party support contractors. Prepare any tenders, papers and presentations in relation to the on-going development of the system and associated software.
- Propose and implement service improvements and developments that impact on the user experience, efficiency of training delivery and performance against Trust compliance targets which may impact on policies and procedures in other departments/directorates.
