An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Harrogate Audiology department. The role is for Ripon Community Hospital.
There will be the ability to cross site work at Harrogate Hospital and York Hospital to develop skills.
Main duties of the job
The role will involve carrying out routine adult audiology work which includes adult hearing assessment, hearing aid fitting and follow up and repair clinics.
The post holder will provide audiological cover for ENT clinics both for adults and children, within the Audiology Department and at peripheral clinic, consisting of pure-tone audiometry, tympanometry and speech audiometry as required.
Providing a comprehensive hearing aid service to patients referred to the department from GPs and the ENT Department, including provision of a full range of NHS digital hearing aids.
To take aural impressions for all age groups working within national and departmental protocols and using own clinical judgement to ensure safe and competent practice.
Responsible for daily calibration, maintenance of audiometer, impedance meter, insertion gain and hearing aid fitting equipment for general audiology.
Participate in general departmental audit, research and development.
Participate in departmental upkeep, including liaison with the Works Department where necessary.
