Job summary

As a Storekeeper you will provide internal supply chain services such as receipting, distributing and recording the goods delivered to wards using our computerised and manual systems. You will unpack and check delivered items against delivery/order information and actioning any discrepancies. You will also liaise with a range of people and replenish stocks as needed.

This role can be busy but rewarding with tight timescales to ensure our nursing teams have sufficient stock at all times. You will have the support of the team in stores, but also the wider team of friendly colleagues in Purchasing.

The role requires some physical effort (moving cages, boxes and parcels) but lifting equipment is available and training will be provided.

The department encourages staff to build their skills through work-based e-learning.

Main duties of the job

  • Receive and deliver the daily early morning Supply Chain orders to wards and departments.
  • Ensures all orders/deliveries are received in an acceptable condition, and if not report to the Stores Supervisor.
  • Liaise with end users , customers, colleagues and other staff about any delivery issues, receipting issues or supply enquiries including goods to be returned to the supplier.
  • Keep the work area clean and in a secure condition in accordance with Health and Safety regulations and report any issues to your Supervisor.
