Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to be a Band 2 Health Care Support Worker at our Urology One Stop Diagnostic Unit at Malton Hospital.

We are seeking a dynamic individual who is passionate about patient care. You will be able to communicate at all levels to help drive our service forward and provide high standards of safe patient care at all times.

This is a permanent contract opportunity 8am-6pm, 3 days per week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday

Main duties of the job

As a Healthcare Support Worker you will be responsible for essential nursing care , under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, also for the ward environment cleanliness and tidiness to conform with Trust standards.

You will be a key member in supporting patients to make choices about their care and ensure that those choices are respected

Good communication with colleagues, patients and their relatives is essential, providing support for individuals with communication difficulties also.

  • Basic literacy/ numeracy skills preferably gained through secondary school education
  • Willingness to undertake training

  • NVQ/ QCF Level 2 in a health related subject
