An exciting opportunity has arisen to become the Physiotherapy Clinical Lead in Paediatric Neurology at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic, and experienced Paediatric Physiotherapist to join our Paediatric Therapy Team.

You will be responsible for developing and leading our Physiotherapy service at York and Selby Hospitals, embedding best practice in line with National standards across the sites. You will work closely with clinical leads from both York and Scarborough Hospitals and the wider multidisciplinary team to support the ongoing development of the AHP role in Paediatric Neurology.

The Children's Therapy team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals are a friendly, supportive and motivated AHP team. Support will be provided by the AHP Senior Operational Manager, Physiotherapy Professional Lead and Children's Therapy Team Manager.

The ability to transport yourself and equipment across the community is required for this role.

Main duties of the job

  • Take clinical lead in developing the Paediatric Neurology service andappropriate clinical pathways, embedding best practice in line with National standards across the organisation.
  • Work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for a caseload of patients and having oversight of those patients within area
  • Utilise advanced skills for comprehensive assessment and facilitate high quality, individualised care for the Children and Young People within our service.
  • Provide a visible presence and leadership, giving assurance in evidence based and effective physiotherapy clinical practice, supporting the development of appropriate knowledge and skills of the staff working in this area.
  • Identify future service development needs and make recommendations for implementation.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team
  • Review, develop and monitoring the specialist clinical services offered by the physiotherapy team.
  • To act as a resource within the department and Trust providing, highly specialist information and advice in those conditions indicated including acting as a resource for the wider MDT to support problem solving and to facilitate individualised patient care.
  • Provide support to the team manager who may be of a different AHPprofession and not always be aware of professional standards
