We are looking for a dedicated Ophthalmic Nurse Practitioner to join our kind, vibrant and cohesive multi-disciplinary team here at York Hospital. We welcome applications from nurses who are forward thinkers, and who demonstrate commitment to learning and development.

Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be joining an exciting and growing Nursing & AHP team, providing specialist nursing and ophthalmic care across subspecialties within ophthalmology. Clinics include cataract, glaucoma, cornea, macula, diabetes, surgical, emergency eye care and many more. The post holder will become adept at triaging emergency ophthalmic conditions and managing these patients in clinic, supported by the multi-disciplinary team.
You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a desire to continue independent learning.
Working hours are varied - shifts mainly cover 07:30-18:00 Monday to Friday. The York-based team also provide an overnight and weekend on-call service, dealing with eye emergencies as they come in. There is an expectation for the post-holder (once trained) to work occasional weekend shifts.
