Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a Clerical Officer to join our Audiology Team at Harrogate Hospital, where you will be providing a range of administrative functions including face to face contact with hearing impaired patients, telephone and other supportive duties.

The role will involve handling telephone calls to and from patients, colleagues and suppliers and taking messages.

There will also be general administration tasks, including data entry, audio typing and the upkeep of records and clinic lists.

So if you have a keen eye for detail and like a varied work day, this is the role for you!

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate needs to be an enthusiastic, self-motivated team player with excellent communication skills.

The post holder will support a well-established team Audiology team, by contributing to an efficient and effective service within a very busy environment, working within strict departmental and national guidelines with responsibility for receiving, maintaining and providing manual and electronic data containing sensitive and confidential information.

  • Educated to GCSE Level or equivalent. Maths and English at C or above - or equivalent qualification/demonstrable experience.
  • Computer literacy skills to RSA2, NVQ 2 or equivalent

  • Previous Office/Administrative experience in an NHS environment
  • Previous Office/Administrative experience (1 year minimum)
  • Experience of dealing with confidential information
