Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a fixed term Band 7 Senior Sister/Charge Nurse on Ward 16 at York Hospital. This is for a period of 12 months and is to cover the Maternity Leave of the current post holder.

Ward 16 is a 30 bedded surgical ward specialising in Upper and Lower Gastrointestinal conditions. Within the ward we have an 8 bed Nurse Enhanced Unit, caring for Level 1 patients post operatively or acutely.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking a dedicated, forward-thinking and dynamic individual who is passionate about nursing and dedicated to improving patient care through effective leadership and management of our ward team. You will be able to communicate at all levels within the Multidisciplinary and wider teams to help drive our service and lead change and improvements.

We wish to recruit an individual with strong leadership skills who can support the team to deliver safe and compassionate care with the patient at the heart of all we do.

You will have consistent high standards and a commitment to engaging and developing the nursing team.
