Job summary
We are currently looking for Band 5 Audiologist to join our hard-working Audiology team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The Audiology Team were voted the British Academy of Audiology Team of the Year 2022
The opportunity has arisen within our well-equipped department that currently provides a comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitative service to the Adult and Paediatric population of York and Scarborough as well outlying areas.
In your first year with the department courses that are offered internally include first steps in leadership, dementia awareness and quality improvement level 1.
If you are applying with a Foundation Degree in Audiology then the department would consider employing as a Band 4 with the opportunity to complete the final year of the BSc in Audiology. Main duties of the job
You will have completed the BSc in Audiology or equivalent (MSc in Audiology). Duties will include provision of a range of audiometric investigations and a comprehensive hearing aid service to adults.
These clinical services include providing a full range of digital hearing aids. You will be expected to attend clinics and various locations, so the ability to transport yourself and equipment across the locality during the course of a normal working day is required for this vacancy. The trust has access to hire vehicles but if you do not have a driving licence there is a good rail link locally and travel time is allowed when travelling from your allocated base to our other clinics.

The NHS Staff Council has accepted the pay offer made by the government for Agenda for Change staff in England, which you will see is reflected on the salary for this role. Thenew salary rates for this year(2023/24)willtake effect from 1 April 2023. Eligible staff can expect to receive the additional 2022/23 payment and the new 2023/24 pay rates (including back pay to 1 April) as part of their pay in June.
