The Collaboration of Acute Providers is hosted by York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and an integral part of the Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care System. As a system we are embarking on transformational change across our urgent care, elective care and diagnostic services. As part of a dynamic Programme Team, we are looking for enthusiastic and experienced people to drive our change programme and deliver on our ambitions for our patients and the opportunity has arisen for Programme Leads to support the Urgent and Emergency Care Programme.

The National UEC Recovery plan sets a target of achieving the 76% 4-hour standard, the CAT2 response times within 30 minutes and bed occupancy at or below 92%. The vision for our urgent and emergency care is ensuring that people are seen in the right place, first time and every time; to improve UEC and deliver safe, effective and easily accessible UEC services, with limited variation, whilst recognising the needs of our diverse population and that our patients should be able to easily navigate the urgent care system, with timely access to advice and/or care and treatment in a safe environment.

Applications for secondments of 12 - 24 months and flexible working will all be considered.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be a member of Collaboration of Acute Providers Programme Team, supporting the Urgent and Emergency Care Programme to deliver improvement, change, quality, performance and financial projects across Same Day Emergency Care, Urgent Treatment Centres and Single Point of Access programmes.

The post holder will work across all Trust sites, the Integrated Care System and Place leads and has the following objectives:

  • Develop robust project documentation and fully worked up implementation plans in agreement with key stakeholders using recognised project management methodology and improvement processes.
  • Work with organisation and system colleagues to identify opportunities to improve patient pathways, work to develop these plans to the implementation and delivery stage ensuring governance and approval through the project, programme and organisational governance processes.
  • Comprehensive and accurate reporting of progress against project milestones, delivery, KPIs, risks and issues.
  • Support management, clinical teams and front-line staff with implementation of process and business change.
