Job summary

We are looking to recruit dynamic speciality doctor to work in our established Urology department at Luton & Dunstable University Hospital, which is part of Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The appointment is a full-time post. The role is to provide a shared responsibility for the provision of care to our patients, while implementing innovative working practices in creating a high-performing multidisciplinary team.

Weekly work commitments will be within the Working Time Regulations on working hours and will also be influenced by the Royal College of Surgery recommendations, the Consultant contract and will be specified in the Job Plan.

Main duties of the job

Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of allurological patients

To share with colleagues in the urology department the management of urological patients requiring admission.

The appointee will have on call commitments, forming part of the 'consultant on call' rota

Teaching and training of intermediate grade and junior medical staff, nursing staff and medical students.

To actively participate in both departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and audit.
