Job summary
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Team Lead Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist with proven specialist skills in vascular surgery and amputee rehabilitation, to join our integrated Surgical and Orthopaedic team.
The successful candidate will be passionate about vascular surgery, delivery of a quality service, lead on evidence-based practice and develop initiatives to meet changing needs of the population and acute trust.
They will be motivated to develop themselves, colleagues and the service alongside the demands of working in a busy acute hospital.
Main duties of the job
To give expert advice and referrals for ongoing management post vascular surgery and amputation to relevant stake holders.
To organise and carry out therapy team and local in-service training and educational programmes physiotherapist and other members of the Multidisciplinary Team including students.
Be responsible for the provision of expert physiotherapy or occupational therapy input for the rehabilitation of all vascular patients within the acute hospital. This will include primary amputees and those with multiple limb loss, who are empowered through specialist physiotherapy intervention to achieve the optimum level of independence and mobility whether they use an artificial limb.
To be involved in patients entire inpatient journey which can include pre-assessment and travelling to patients homes for home visit assessment
Be responsible for wheelchair assessments and referrals for wheelchair provision.
This will involve working collaboratively with the Multidisciplinary Team and be a source of expert advice to patients, carers and other clinicians involved in the patients' care.
To assist in the organisation and delivery of educational programmes in this speciality.
