Therapies Training Coordinator

Job summary

We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a proactive and well-organised individual to join our Therapies Department, supporting the education and training of both staff and students. This role will be based across the Luton & Dunstable and Bedford Hospital sites, providing a valuable contribution to the development of learning within our clinical teams.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Therapies Practice Development Team, the Trusts' Recruitment Team, Higher Education Providers, and learners within the department to ensure the effective coordination and delivery of educational initiatives. Applicants should possess previous administrative experience, with strong communication and organisational skills, alongside a background in working within clinical environments. A genuine interest in supporting the professional growth of others is essential.

This is a pioneering role that offers the opportunity to shape and enhance the provision of high-quality, practice-based learning within the department.

Interviews for this position will be held in person on Friday 12th September at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital.

Main duties of the job

  1. To support the organisation and allocation of all education placements across Therapies.
  2. To work with practice / clinical educators and partner organisations to increase education placement provision and to provide administrative support.
  3. To maintain a database of education placement capacity, which aligns with the fair share model. Ensuring deviations are escalated appropriately.
  4. Match placement requests from higher education providers to offers from teams and maintain records of details to ensure timely reporting to ensure accurate AHP Tariff invoicing.
  5. Liaise with practice based learners, higher education providers and recruitment team to ensure all pre-placement paperwork and information is up-to-date, completed and available at the start of the placement.
  6. Monitor Practice Educators' compliance for educator training.
  7. To help support the development, delivery, auditing and evaluation of education sessions, including co-ordinating and booking venues where appropriate and minute taking.
  8. To support the preceptorship programmes.
  9. To support the Care Certificate process for new Support Workers.
  10. To effectively manage and prioritise own workload including proactive planning and meeting deadlines.
  11. To work without direct supervision and make day-to-day decisions within own remit and to use initiative as to when to refer to others
