Job summary
This is a fixed term 12-month Senior Clinical Fellow post with special interest in Diagnostic Oncology and Robotic. The post holder will be expected to support our consultants in delivering comprehensive care to women who attend the department. The appointee will work closely with the existing Specialist Registrars and supporting Consultants to provide a full range of gynaecological services. It is anticipated that the candidate will provide a high standard gynaecological care and will be supported in pursuing advanced training if desired.
Main duties of the job
Key tasks of the Post:
Gynaecology theatre sessions.
Specialist gynaecological clinics: Diagnostic Oncology, outpatient hysteroscopy and attend weekly gynaecology oncology MDT.
The post holder will provide Senior Registrar level support to the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department.
Attend ward & board rounds. The post holder may also be responsible for unaccompanied ward rounds.
Work under the supervision of and be responsible to his/her respective consultant, or the on-call consultant and, ultimately the Clinical Director.
Regular contribution to departmental teachings and meetings, Journal club.
Undertake, exceptionally, to perform additional duties in occasional emergency and unforeseen circumstances.
In case of difficulties of any kind, the post holder will seek the advice of the appropriate consultant but not expected to participate in any work beyond their level of expertise.
Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and carers
When not directly supervised, Consultant advice and cover is always available. In case of difficulties of any kind, the post holder will seek the advice of the appropriate consultant.
So far as is consistent with the proper discharge of the above duties, the appointee undertakes to deputise from time to time for absent colleagues.
The appointee undertakes, exceptionally, to perform additional duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.
