Job summary

An exciting opportunity to hold a unique position in our Clinical Engineering team. We are looking for enthusiastic budding engineer, eager to learn and with a flexible approach to work

The position necessitates the incumbent to possess knowledge and expertise in the Electrical/Electronic engineering fields. A thorough understanding of physiological measurements is also required. Furthermore, the role demands in-depth knowledge and skills to specialise in clinical/technical services that need enhanced support and guidance in the application and management of intricate medical devices.

This post will give you the chance to apply your expertise within the hospital, up keeping and maintaining various types of medical equipment, mitigating the risks associated with the devices, and adhering to related regulations.

This position also provides the opportunity to acquire more experience on wide variety of critical device, with an opportunity to attend OEM and in house training courses.

This position is ideal for someone with relevant experience in biomedical engineering and looking for an exciting opportunity to get further his or her careers.

Our Clinical Engineering Department is an expanding and constantly evolving work place, with exciting future opportunities to grow and progress.

Main duties of the job

To help maintain and upkeep of medical devices in the hospital as recommended by the device manufacturers. This includes carrying out planned preventative maintenance and repairs on a variety of clinical equipment to ensure that the manufacturer's functional and safety specifications are met.

Working on Medical equipment database to keep a complete and accurate technical records of work performed.

Assisting in general day to day working of the department, helping Clinical staff with technical issue relating to medical devices, liaising with Device manufacturers and helping in maintaining stock levels.

Be part of regular in house and OEM training courses with a view to keep abreast with the latest clinical and technical developments in Clinical Engineering.

The post holder will form part of a team maintaining medical equipment across the trust and is required to work within the requirements of the Department of Health regulations, Care Quality Commission Standards, Trust employment policies and the Trust policy for the management of medical devices to a high standard of safety and accountability.

The post holder liaises and works closely with other Healthcare Professionals, manufacturers representatives, engineers and other technical staff to provide applications advice, device evaluation, acceptance testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, calibration and maintenance of a diverse range of diagnostic, therapeutic and point of care testing equipment, ensuring it functions correctly, is within calibration limits and safe for patient and staff use.
