Job summary
To provide an efficient and effective reception service to Bridges Clinic - Private Patients at Bedford Hospital, consultants and designated medical staff. Be first point of contact for the patient, consultants and clinical teams.
Main duties of the job
- Ensure all Private Patients are correctly recorded on the Trust Information Management systems e.g. (PIMs, TomCat, ICE, SOLUS and OPRA) to comply with Trust administration and billing arrangements and audit specifications.
- To ensure all data and documentation in relation to Private Patients is filed in accordance with Trust Information Governance Policy.
- To provide an efficient and effective clinical administration service to the department, consultants and designated medical staff. Be first point of contact for the patient, consultants and clinical teams.
4. To attend to patients, colleagues and referrers to the service, both in person and by email or on the telephone, promptly and courteously at all times and be a worthy front-line representative of the high quality service.
- Be fully conversant with Insurance Companies regarding pre-authorisation of treatment, continuation of cover and price agreements and ensure that these are applied.
- Maintain a check list of all documents and information associated with the various stages of the patient's care pathway in the hospital and ensures that they are up to date and accurate.
- Ensure self-paying patients are identified and appropriate action is taken with regards to funding their hospital admission prior to admission.
