Job summary
Luton Sexual Health are looking for a registered nurse who is an enthusiastic, team player. This self-motivated and ambitious individual will be required to provide confidential, holistic sexual and contraceptive health care and education to clients attending the town centre service in a welcoming, sensitive and non-judgemental manner. Assessing sexual health and contraception healthcare needs; delivering and implementing individual care within defined competencies you will be educating and advising clients using a motivational/health coaching approach to promote positive sexual health choices, relationships and outcomes.
The role will include one evening working until 1900 and one Saturday in 3 and involves providing care without supervision, demonstrating procedures and supervise junior and/or unqualified staff.
Work effectively as part of the wider Multidisciplinary Team and support the Band 7 ANPs, Band 8a Nurse Managers and Clinical Operations Lead in achieving the service, Directorate and Trust's aims and objectives.
Main duties of the job
Assessment of sexual health and contraception healthcare needs, delivery and implementation of individual care within defined competencies.
Educate and advise clients using a motivational/health coaching approach to promote positive sexual health choices, relationships and outcomes.
Identify Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) sexual assault, Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and Child/Adult Safeguarding concerns and follow reporting/management protocols
Perform venepuncture.
Perform microscopy.
Assist clinicians prepare for/carry out procedures/sample taking. Process samples.
Administer injections.
Deliver medication as prescribed or according to PGD's.

Work towards sexual and contraceptive Nurse Band 6 competencies.
Participate in clinical audit as required.
