This role is for 37.5 hours a week, will entail cross site working and be based at the Bevan Library, Bedford Hospital.
You will play a key role in delivering a seamless, high quality and efficient library and information services.
You will have exceptional communication skills, knowledge of health related information resources, information skills and previous experience in an NHS library environment would be an advantage.

Main duties of the job
- Provide professional support to the Library Services & Knowledge Manager(s) for the development, organisation and delivery of an effective library and information service, which supports users in their delivery of high quality health care to patients and their educational, training and research needs.
- Deputise for the Library Services & Knowledge Manager(s) in their absence.
- Provide cross-site support as part of the library team and travel between sites
- Develop and maintain accurate national, regional and local electronic resources, (including Ovid Link Resolver, EBSCO Discovery & Athens administration.)
- Assist users in person, by phone, by email or online providing an effective enquiry service making use of interview skills to ascertain user's needs.
- Carry out literature searches, induction and 1-2-1 training with clinical and non-clinical staff and students on placement.
- Liaise with libraries and librarians in the East of England consortium responding to initiatives, discussions, requests, provision of information, recording and analysing statistics.
- Play a key role in the preparation for and assessment of library services against the Library Quality and Improvement Outcomes Framework (QIOF) for NHS funded library services in England.
- Support access to the library by working evenings, early mornings and as a lone worker when required
- Support the library IT facilities, and lendable devices liaising with the library technician to ensure seamless and robust 24/7 access
