Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Pelvic Health Physiotherapy Team in the Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, as a Senior Physiotherapist based at the Bedford Hospital site. You will be joining a forward thinking department which is valued and respected throughout the Trust and part of the wider therapies service.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and well-motivated physiotherapist to join our Pelvic Health team on a full time basis.

The successful applicant must be able to perform highly skilled assessment and treatment of patients within the speciality of pelvic floor dysfunction to include the clinical diagnosis and physiotherapy treatment indicated for patients with continence dysfunction and musculoskeletal pregnancy related disorders and to maintain records as an autonomous practitioner.

In addition you will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and documentation skills plus prioritisation and delegation abilities. The service is committed to offering student placements.

Main duties of the job

To undertake advanced physiotherapeutic assessment within a diverse range of complexity of physical and psychological conditions, to provide diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme.

To be responsible for accessing advice and support from more senior physiotherapists to promote clinical reasoning and skills for highly complex situations.

To manage own caseload of patients referred. Taking responsibility for assessing, treating and discharging these patients and undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.

To supervise and teach less experienced physiotherapists, assistants and under-graduate physiotherapy students.
