Job summary

The same day emergency care is a fast-growing service at Bedford hospital.

We see acutely unwell patients from a number of specialities from both medical and surgical services. We have an exciting clinic area equipped with a team of high experience.

The urgent and emergency care directorate is in the process of developing a robust standard operating policy which will underpin the Same Day Emergency Care unit operation policy. All patients attending the unit will be assessed utilizing pathways to ensure patient safety, effectiveness and efficiency.

Main duties of the job

Bedford Hospital opened its' Same Day Emergency Care during the pandemic. We are looking for high motivated, dynamic hard working nurses from across a number of specialities.

You will work alongside a friendly, supportive, and professional integrated team comprising of consultants, nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapist, discharge co-ordinators, advanced clinical practitioners, pharmacists, social services and community services.

This service will run 7 days per week, 12 -24 hours per day depending on service need.

On occasion we run as an escalation area with 13 beds, the clinic remains open.
