An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse to join the Medical Day Unit at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital site. The Day Unit is a vibrant, fast paced clinical environment specialising in the delivery of supportive care therapies which include intravenous treatments and procedures like blood transfusions, iron infusions, biologic treatments, biphosphate infusions, venesections and endocrine testing to name but a few. St Mary's Day Unit currently has 11 treatment chairs with a scope for expansion
We are looking for an experienced, motivated and dynamic nurse to join our team. The successful candidate will be a team leader assisting in the management and development of others and take a proactive approach in the contribution to the everyday running and coordination of high-quality care.
You will need to be a 1st level registered nurse, have experience in cannulation, phlebotomy and the administration of IV medications. Previous experience at band 6 level including experience as nurse in charge and supporting the training and development of other staff is also essential. You will possess excellent communication skills, be reliable, enthusiastic and an effective team member who is committed to providing the highest level of service for our patients.

Main duties of the job
- To coordinate and supervise a shift, communicating effectively with members of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality, evidence-led care to patients.
- To exercise clinical judgment and decision making about patient needs in terms of long-term goals or plans.
- To assume personal accountability for nursing care delivered to a patient in accordance with the NMC code of conduct. There is an expectation for post holders:
