Job summary

You will provide third trimester scanning, with a focus on GROW, working as a member of the sonography team with links in to the midwifery team.

You will also provide support to the midwifery and sonography team in aspects of the GROW GAP program and how this interfaces with the Saving Babies Lives agenda.

Main duties of the job

Ensure the provision of effective and sensitive evidence-based midwifery and Ultrasound care to the highest standard.

Act as a specialist in the field of Ultrasound screening and diagnosis, assisting and advising other health professionals in the care of clients' undergoing testing.

Assist in monitoring and maintaining evidence-based standards and audit practice within the service.

Communicate and liaise with the multidisciplinary team to promote effective and quality care.

Maintain clear, concise and contemporaneous midwifery and Ultrasound records in accordance with Codes of professional Conduct and within the scope of professional practise and guidelines on records and record keeping.

We are looking for a midwife with a qualification in third trimester scanning. As a midwife sonographer, you will work as part of the Sonographers team, performing third trimester ultrasound scans and supporting the Trust implementation of the GROW pathway.

We are working with colleagues in Maternity Ultrasound department to implement SBLCBv3 .

The unit will provide you with an excellent opportunity to develop your midwifery career alongside the public health agenda. Our Maternity service has over 5,000 births a year, offering care to a diverse and growing community through community and hospital based services.

With a level 3 Neonatal Unit on site, we offer care to not only our local population of Luton and South Bedfordshire, but to women in Hertfordshire and beyond.
