Main duties of the job
Act as scrub nurse for full range of surgical procedures performed within the department.
Perform circulating duties for operating lists as required.
Admit and assess patients to the clinical area prior to surgery.
Assess patients' suitability for discharge from the clinical area, giving appropriate instructions for post-operative care and liaising with community teams if required.
Remove skin graft dressings and sutures, assessing wounds and providing appropriate aftercare advice.
Assist with Laser treatments and clinics.
Assist in Photodynamic therapy treatment.
Give advice on the telephone to patients regarding laser treatment and minor surgery
Participate in research and practice research based care.
