Project Manager

The closing date is 22 April 2026

Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join the North West Teenage and Young Adult (TYA) Network as a Project Manager, supporting improvements in cancer care for young people aged 16-24. You'll work across a unique regional partnership that brings together two Principal Treatment Centres, twelve Designated Hospitals, commissioners, Cancer Alliances, and patient representatives to deliver high-quality, consistent care.

You will play a key role in driving forward the Network's work programme--bringing strong project management skills, curiosity, and the confidence to work across organisational boundaries. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, analysing challenges, and turning insight into action. You will represent the Network with professionalism and compassion, working closely with senior clinicians, managers, and external partners.

If you're passionate about improving services, thrive in a varied and collaborative environment, and want your work to genuinely influence outcomes for young people with cancer, we'd love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

You will lead and support a range of improvement projects across the TYA Network, managing timelines, risks, data, and stakeholder engagement to ensure delivery against the Network's work plan. Day-to-day, you will analyse complex issues, undertake audits and process mapping, and develop solutions that improve quality, safety, and experience for young people.

You will build strong relationships with clinical and non-clinical teams across the region, acting as a key point of contact for project delivery. The role involves preparing high-quality reports, presenting progress to senior decision-makers, and contributing to governance meetings including the Network Oversight Group.

You'll also support policy and guidance development, facilitate workshops, and ensure robust governance, information security, and quality assurance processes. Line-managing administrative staff, you'll foster a supportive team culture and uphold the Christie leadership standards. A willingness to travel across Network sites is essential.
