Job summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Radiology Research Manager on a 12-month fixed term contract (full time maternity leave cover).
They will provide strategic and operational leadership for our Radiology research and clinical trials portfolio. The postholder will oversee the delivery of research programmes and clinical strategy projects, ensuring they are managed efficiently, compliantly, and within budget. Working closely with radiologists, clinical teams, academic partners, and external funders, the role will drive the development, coordination, and sustainability of Radiology research, including securing grant funding and managing regulatory requirements.
The position also includes line management of the Radiology Clinical Trials team and plays a key role in shaping the future direction and impact of Radiology research within the Trust. We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual with excellent organisational and communication skills and previous experience in the set-up and delivery of clinical research projects.
This is a 12-month fixed term post for Maternity Cover.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be able to show professional qualifications, skills and experience in order to perform the following key duties:
Lead and manage the Radiology research and clinical trials programme, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with organisational strategy and priorities.
Provide operational and line management for the Radiology Clinical Trials team, including staffing, performance management, service delivery, and risk management.
Oversee research governance, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance, ensuring that studies meet all legal and regulatory obligations in compliance with the UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research
Coordinate and manage grant funding and investment activity, including identifying funding opportunities, leading grant applications, managing awarded funds, and supporting the long-term sustainability of Radiology research.
Act as a key liaison and strategic partner, working collaboratively with radiologists, clinical and academic colleagues, Trust and University departments, and external organisations to support research delivery, dissemination, and strategic development.
