Job summary
We are looking for a hardworking team player to join us in the friendly Radiotherapy treatment delivery team at our Withington site. The Band 7 position is a key member of the treatment team and will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of a clinical area. The Withington site comprises of 8 Elekta LinAcs, an XStrahl Superficial machine and 2 Phillips Big Bore CT Scanners, providing opportunity to gain skills in all these areas.
We are looking for an enthusiastic radiographer with significant experience in treatment delivery who is motivated to lead the implementation of new techniques for treatment delivery, along with the development of protocols. They should be able to motivate their team and have the flexibility to problem solve effectively. They will be responsible for supporting and managing a team of radiographers.
Main duties of the job
Provide professional, technical, operational, and clinical leadership, advising and supporting radiographic staff across the service.Troubleshoot patient care or technical issues in designated area.Supervise, instruct and take part in treatment delivery and image guided radiotherapy.Be pro-active in the development and implementation of evidence based clinical practice in line with local and national initiatives, facilitating changes in service where necessary.Act as an expert resource on treatment delivery equipment, imaging, and oncology management systems. Providing support and advice as appropriate.Work closely with the other Superintendents and the Quality Manager, to monitor the work across the service, in order to maintain high quality service delivery and professional standards, helping to further develop and maintain the accredited Quality Management System.In depth knowledge of UK radiation legislation IRR 1999 and IR(ME)R 2017 and to act as an expert resource in interpretation of the legislation, with regards standard operating procedures and error reporting.Establish and maintain good communication links between multi-disciplinary team.Promote opportunities for team development and individual role enhancement.Undertake clinical operational responsibility in the absence of the lead/principal radiographer.
