Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist with NHS experience to join our Band 6 rotation.
Rotations take place every 9 months across the following areas: Clinical and Medical oncology, Haematology/CAR-T and Teenage and Young Adults (TYA). All our rotations will provide you with the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills and competence within the field of oncology in one of Europe's leading Cancer centres.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Band 5 Occupational Therapist looking to progress or an existing Band 6 Occupational Therapist with an interest in oncology and palliative care.
As a dynamic Occupational Therapist, you will carry out assessments and interventions targeting often complex physical, psychosocial and cognitive problems as a result of cancer and its treatment. The post holder will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care and they will be expected to support staff development via training and education.
You will be provided with regular supervision from the clinical leads and will be encouraged to participate in continuing professional development, with access to a wide range of training and networking opportunities.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as an integral part of the Occupational Therapy service, providing high quality and person-centred interventions for our patients. They will be responsible for:
- The effective management of a clinical caseload
- Contributing to and supporting the development of the Occupational Therapy service
- Participation in junior staff and student supervision and development
The successful candidate will be required to work flexibly with a potential for 6-day working. They will also be expected to contribute to clinical audit, research, CPD and in-service training.
